Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Syrum Review

As most good things tend to be in life, finding myself with a bottle of Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum was a complete fluke of chance, thrown into a bag of samples. I don’t usually go ridiculously crazy over beauty products but I when I gave this one a go I just knew I would have to put up a review.

Introducing: My Skin. I have combination skin that will jump from oily along the hair line and jaw line one day, and the next to if I forget to moisturize after a shower my skin will literally dry out, crack & bleed. No Joke. So I can moisturize and not have severe dryness but I will also get a lot of sub-dermal acne due to the oiliness. I’ve tried a few products, including Proactive, and so far the only thing I’d found that made any sort of difference was Lush’s Movis Oat Bar.

Enter Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase. Clarins boasts to “address the multi-layered issue of dehydration and lifeless skin… This intense facial serum provides a penetrating moisture boost that works even on the deepest layers. This ultimate facial serum’s natural hydration system promotes a softer, healthier-looking complexion. Without shine or an oily appearance”. I can honestly say it does all of that and more! I was surprised at its ‘serum’ texture, and was highly doubtful that a liquid could deliver on the amount of moisture my skin needs. Within 3 days I stopped pairing it with my daily moisturizer and began applying only the serum on its own. I’ve been using it as my sole method of moisturizing for two weeks now and my skin is finally starting to feel better after 3 years of ‘combo’ problems! Not only does it completely hydrate and feel silky smooth all day (I applied at 6:30 this morning & it’s now 3:00pm!) but my acne has slowly been getting better. It hasn’t stopped completely yet, but the outbreaks are fewer and what I do get are significantly less severe. Note: This isn’t an acne treatment, it just so happens that it has helped solve the cause of mine. Add in that it has a lot of natural ingredients, is created using sustainable development practices, and is paraben free!

Online Ratings:

Clarins 4/5

Sephora 4.5/5

Amazon 5/5

Hudson’s Bay 5/5

Given my review I bet you can guess I’m going to agree with these ratings. I’d give it a solid 4.5/5, I’m thrilled with it! It is a little pricey for the amount but really, all you need is two pumps for your entire face and one of the small bottles has lasted me 2 weeks used once daily and I’m about 1/4 of the way through the bottle. So if you’re looking for a new moisturizer I would absolutely recommend this product! Give it a go and see what you think!

yup

  1. I’m going to have to pick this up and love that it has high ratings. I have crazy dry, blotchy skin and no amount of moisturizer seems to be helping me. 🙁
